Wood Wave Art: Size, Styling & Care Guide
A practical guide to choosing, displaying and caring for Tidegrain’s framed wood wave relief. Start with the measurements, then choose the design that feels right for your space.

1. Choosing a small framed artwork
Ocean in Relief measures 21.6 × 21.6 × 3.5 cm overall, including the frame — approximately 8.50 × 8.50 × 1.38 in. It is a compact piece to appreciate at close range, not a large statement painting. Interior concept images are not scale references.
Before ordering, cut or mark a 21.6 cm square on paper and try it in the intended spot. Step back to your usual viewing distance. On a shelf, leave extra room behind the piece for its tabletop support; the 3.5 cm measurement describes the artwork, not its full supported footprint.
Wave design and frame finish
Choose one of four wave designs and either a black or walnut-colour frame finish. Both frames are ash wood: “walnut colour” describes the finish, not the wood species. Compare the original design and frame-finish photographs in the product gallery. A black-frame reference does not show every walnut-colour combination, and screens and lighting can affect colour.
Each purchase includes one selected artwork, a gift box, tabletop support and wall-mounting hardware. Collection photographs do not mean that multiple artworks are included.
2. Displaying wood relief on a shelf or wall
A desk, bookcase or small wall area lets the carved detail be seen up close. Try the paper-size check first, and leave some clear space around the frame so the wave remains easy to see. These are styling suggestions, not promises about how the work will look in every room.
For tabletop display, use the included support on a stable, level surface, away from edges. For wall display, use a fixing suitable for your wall and follow the supplied installation instructions. Included hardware does not guarantee suitability for every wall type; ask a qualified installer if uncertain.
Choose a dry indoor position away from direct sunlight, heaters and damp areas. Avoid placing it where water can splash onto the wood or painted surface.
3. Caring for the frame and relief
Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not soak the artwork, spray cleaner onto it or use abrasive products. Avoid rubbing or pressing into the carved details. Keep the original packaging if you may need to move or store the piece.
